Dollar drops against the yen in night trading

The dollar fell against the Japanese yen late Wednesday night in New York. The greenback slipped to 89.28 yen from the 89.54 yen it bought in late afternoon trading.

On Tuesday, the dollar was worth 89.26 yen.
